The NO-NO's of Twi-Mafia:

1. Discussion is day time only. There is silence during the night, since technically the allied team members of Forks are sleeping.

Exceptions: those who have night roles and active killing vampire mafia members.

2. All information should be passed through words-- no mass PMing, screenshots, or however else you can break this rule of any kind!

3. Once you have been lynched or killed, that's it for you, buddy. Unless you have a role that is activated upon your death, you are silent. Fun for you, though, you are shown the roles of all members and their recent activities. Since dead members are given such top secret information, the game will be compromised if words from the dead are spoken. Therefore, DEAD IS DEAD.

Other than that, you are allowed to lie and deceive all you like. In fact, that's the point if you're VM. Do your best, and win for your team!

How is mafia played?
There are three teams; the mafia, the villagers, and the werewolves. In the spirit of Twilight, we will call them The Vampire Mafia (VM or vamps or mafia..whatever) aka the mafia, The Allied Team (AF) aka the villagers, and the Werewolves, same as the real game title. The Vamp Mafia are a few randomly selected members who's sole purpose is to kill. They will gather together to choose one member of their choice to kill each night. Come morning, that member will reported as "killed in action" by the mafia. During the day phase, the allied team will discuss what has happened and begin to decide who it is they want to lynch (who they suspect are mafia members). At the end of the day phase, a lynch vote is given and the majority wins. The allied team's job is to uncover the identities of the members of the VM and destroy the werewolves to save the town of Forks. If they fail, the vampire mafia or the werewolves may win!

A group entirley of their own are the werewolves. Do not be confused; the shapeshifters of La Push are NOT werewolves. The werewolves (Children of the Moon) have their own agenda. They are working together to transform all of the citzens of Forks into werewolves-- including the VM! Each night phase they will choose a member to bite and come morning, that member will be converted into a werewolf. There may be two werewolves working together or a pack leader who will work by himself/herself. Members cannot stop being bitten and they will not be informed of this event either. They will proceed through the game not knowing they are a werewolf. Werewolves work undercover! And if they succeed, the game is theirs!

What are roles and how are they assigned?
Roles are assigned randomly. Each member will recieve a role and told whether they are part of the allied team, vampire mafia, or a werewolf/pack leader. Some members will be given SPECIAL roles which have unique powers to help them fend against and uncover the mafia. The vampire mafia may also be given special roles. When you are given your role, you know your role and your role only. The exceptions are:

1. when killing members of the mafia are given their roles, they will be know one another. So if Susie is given the power to kill and Bob is given the power to kill, they will know one others identities.

Clarifications--
Killing vs. non killing: Go to the list of roles. Some vamp mafia members are the leaders with powers to kill. They will talk amongst themselves every night to decide on a victim. Some vamp mafia members do not have this power. Although they ARE part of the vampire mafia, they do not count as ratio. If all the members of the killing VM are lynched, the non-killing members lose.

Non-killing VMs will be listed as allied team: Why? Because when scanned they will appear as "Not a killing vampire". That doesn't mean you are not mafia, it just means you don't particpate in kills. If killing vampires are all lynched or bitten, the non-killing team of mafia members will lose.

How do I find my allies?
You find your allies by particpating in day phase discussion and talking amongst yourselves. You can share your role with anyone you like; however, it is a large risk to extend your trust to someone. All the evidence you have of the truth of what someone is saying is through their words. It is your choice to trust and share information. For example, let us say you are Bella Cullen. That is a very important role and the vampire mafia most certainly want you dead above all others. You are talking with player1 who is desperately trying to convince you that he/she is Jasper Hale. Do you trust them and inform them of your role? Player1 might just turn out to be Jane Volturi. You must watch your back and figure out who it is you really can trust.

Tip: Be tricky and careful but do not go the entire game without talking with others or searching for allies. You are most likely to be lynched when no one has spoken to you or you are inactive.

What are day and night phases?
There are different events that occur through the phases of the day. During the Night Phase is when the most activity occurs. The mafia will be choosing their kill and anyone with a special night role will be set into play. For example, Edward will be scanning as will Alice. Also, the werewolves are out for a bite of meat. When the night phase is over, a death will occur unless saved by a special role.

The Day Phase is time for discussing. Information will be revealed to certain players and the "Day Phase Discussion" will occur. A post will be opened which will inform who has died and any other annoucnments. All member are welcome to discuss, defend, and accuse. The vampire mafia will be trying their hardest to convince the rest of the team that they are, indeed, not mafia members. Then, everyone must vote on who it is they want to lynch. And so the lynching begins as the day ends.

How does lynching working?
Members will use their best judgement to decide who it is they want to lynch. Does someone seem supicious? Are you a mafia member who needs to get rid of someone who is on your tail? The format of lynching is so--example:

YES HUGE! Nice, big, and bold for all to see. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND: Do not edit and delete! Cross out using [*s][*/s]. Example--

Seems silly, but it's a way of keeping track. Votes are purposely not anonymous! They are there to persuade, defend, and accuse.

How is information passed?
A staff member will be playing a role called "God". He/she is aware of all roles and all activity. If you have a special role (day or night), you report to the staff member in charge. Mafia will report to the God Mod also. The God Mod will publicly announce certain information everyday through a journal post, in the spirit of the game. They will show the members the curtain status of the game. They will act as an allied team and weave a tale to incorporate all the events of the day and night. For example:

In other news...it seems that Carmen Denali has been quietly at work. She left this note on the headquarters counter:

"Beloved Allied Team,
I have discovered, yet again, the allegiance of the just murdered, Player1! The poor sole was part of the allied forces! Make sense of course, why would the VM kill one of their own? Anyway, I must be dilligent. Keep me alive, faithful members! I will continue to fight for you!

A journal post such as this will be posted after every night and day phase. It is to keep you updated...and entertained!

Information between members must be passed by words only. No mass PMing, no screenshots, JUST words. Oral translations, just like Jesus-times, kids.

Physical Appearance:

Standing at 5’ 5”, Elspeth isn't the world's tallest were-wolf, often described as 'tiny' or 'petite'. With her slender frame and long, willowy arms she looks startlingly like a pixie or a fairy; a relatively flat-chested fairy. The only real curves are the ones formed by years of gymnastics and grueling work-out regimes and her arms, abs and legs are surprisingly toned. The amount of time spent outdoors in the sun seems to have stained itself upon her, giving a subtle, gentle bronzing to her usual fair skin and creamy complexion.
Her natural silky blonde hair is blunt cut and short, reaching down to about a inch above her shoulders and styled to maintain. These golden locks frame a mostly-oval face, allowing her slender, almond shaped eyes work their magic. Shaded in a soft grey they show-class a intriguing and electric wave of hazel around their middle, adding depth and a certain stern charm. The sharp features and angles are inherited from her mother's side with a strong, prominent nose and a large mouth capable of blinding when pulled into a smile.
As a wolf her form is similar. While not particularly taller, she is slightly longer. Her legs are slender and strong, much like the rest of her body, covered in thick light brown fur. Streaking through her coat are lines of dark black that wave and curve like a river. Her flaxen hair seems reincarnated in her eyes; a rich honey that sizzles when set aflame by the sun.

Personality:

Strong, independent and laidback, Elspeth knows that at the end of the day you're alone; regardless of who you might be, or rather 'what'. While others may make the mistake of labelling her cold or uncaring, she's simply just reserved herself to the truth, however unappealing it might be. It makes sense then, that she she has a good head on her shoulders. It is uncommon that this werewolf finds herself in trouble, as she's usually smart enough to watch for the signs and avoid it. When she does, though, she's known to resort to using her head and some quick thinking to get herself out of a tight fix. Her stride is steady, content to take everything in and as it comes. The result? It takes an awful lot to shake her up. While her friends may call her boring, she much rather prefers mature, maybe the closest one word will ever come to describing her. She's not the most social butterfly at the ball and prefers having a few close friends, making pack-life semi-ideal.
It can take awhile for Elspeth to warm up to people, but when she does they can count on having a loyal friend. Never one to follow trends, she doesn't care for setting them either. Instead she marches to the beat of her own drum. She's also a very passionate person. Like anyone, she has a lighter side and she loves to relax with friends and laugh.
Her sense of humor is her own; a blend of dry cyncism and wit that - even though it rarely gets the chance to really shine- seems to surround Elspeth at all times, adding to her front. Quite by nature, she prefers to watch and listen to those around her, but don't be fooled. If she thinks that something is important enough or she feels like her opinion is being disregarded, Elspeth has no problem speaking up. Pity any that continue to ignore her after this for they tend to resemble a burnt chicken wing.

Comfort and practicality rule her closest, and if jeans and a t-shirt was any body's style, it would be Elspeth's. If the situation demands it, she can slip into a dress, pull her hair up and throw on some heels with ease, but in her lifestyle skirts and dresses tend to be less then ideal. Instead she prefers less feminine and more casual clothing. A t-shirt under her denim jacket or a unbuttoned long-sleeved shirt, jeans, some comfy sneakers or a pair boots and throw in a messenger bag and she's more then pleased. Accessories include her watch, her black cord choker, a belt and depending on her mood, some wristbands.

Past History:

Elspeth's life was... uncomplicated, to say the least. At least before, it was uncomplicated. She was born, raised and grew in a quaint suburban town in Colorado, USA. It was here among the poppies and the petunias of her mother's garden that she would spend her time playing with and copying her older sister Melinda (Mel) while under the watchful eye of their parents, Ethan and Carol. Here in this garden, vampires and werewolves seemed a million miles away, restricted along with elves, fairies, dragons and mermaids to storybooks read in hushed tones before bed.
Right from the start she showed signs of her love of learning. She was a advanced child, always two steps ahead. That wasn't such a surprise, though; Mel had been fascinatingly smarter then the rest of her age group, too. Regardless, they were raised as children should be, free from high expectations. As Elspie grew her hunger for knowledge was nurtured, cultivated by rich resources of books. And she continued to grow and mature, her parents accepting of her seemingly disinterest in her peers and their activities. Surrounded by love, patience and acceptance, she met the obstacle of high school and tackled it head on. She was a smart student; advanced English, algebra, science... She met everything with her usual persistence and triumphed.
When the time came to send off her college applications, she kept her options open. Only after receiving all her acceptances and declinations did she settle on DeVry University. A local campus, not to far from home. She would be able to travel to class and back each day, returning to the comfort of her bed at night. Melinda would be there too, able to guide her and keep her safe where her parents could not.
The Freshman year had passed by no more three short months when her mother fell ill. Everyone could see something was wrong, but she buffeted away her family's concern with quick excuses of missed sleep and old age. The questions on her health began to come more frequent until, finally Carol relented, booking a appointment for herself at the local clinic. They told her she had pontine glioma; cancer of the brain stem.
Being the type of person she was, Elspeth tackled this problem the only way she knew how: with books. That week, she borrowed every book there was on cancer and it's various forms, submerging herself in their countless pages, becoming lost in the facts. Her findings were blunt and saddening. There was no effective medications. There was no cure. Lifespan from diagnosis was just over 10 months, if that.
Carol Stevenson-Bride was able to see her daughter complete her first year of university before she passed away.
The loss of their mother and wife took hold, contorting their life. The roots that had sunken deep seemed to wither and die along with her, especially for their father, a UK native. It seemed that without his precious wife, the onslaught of homesickness struck. The new year had only just begun when he moved back, his daughters following him.
The adjustment to their flat, and to the UK itself was difficult for the girls who had never been out of America in their lives. But for Elspeth, there were more changes to come. Changes that would shake her life far more then the demise of a mother. It was no secret that there was Scottish heritage on their father's side. It was faint, but defiantly there, evidence in Melinda's dark red hair and Ethan's grin. She'd always thought she'd ducked in time, missed whatever had been aimed her way. She would never have guessed that it was there all along, waiting inside her.
Melinda enrolled herself back into the College education, attempting a restart of normal life. But normal had never been easy for Elspeth, now lost without her mother. She knew how much their acceptance to the UK meant to their father, that he just wanted things to return to how they were. But her motivation was gone, shattered and discarded. Now a werewolf, facing regular transformations as she struggled to control her emotions so soon after a tragedy, it soon became clear that what she needed was time away. Time to think, to reason with herself. She constructed a fraudious application to the University of Glasgow, then a fraudious acceptance letter that had her father looking happier then he had for days. If she felt any guilt, it was softened by knowing she had relieved an old man's pain, if only for a few weeks.
Dispatched for Scotland, she headed to Blackwillow after a scrutinizing search to track down her father's family history. By now she had heard the legends, had seen them written far too many times to be a strange coincident. Although she would never tell him, she suspected the her father had unknowingly carried the trait with him all along, passing it onto her and subsequently changing her life.




Present History:

It wasn't often that Elspeth regretted a decision, even just a little. But her decision to leave her family and move to Blackwillow, Scotland while she searched for answers to the curse plaguing her was very, very close. She knew no one and she could hardly understand what people were saying. She couldn't have felt more alone if she was stranded on a deserted island.
Strangely, the only thing that kept her committed was herself, or rather her werewolf self. It all seemed so unbelievable to her, and she intended on getting her answers. She ventured outside her boarding room, spoke to the locals until she found herself speaking with a accent as convincing as their own. But the information she received was only repeated, if slightly modified versions of what she already knew to be true. There seemed no true accounts of these things, these transformations, ever really happening before.
Close to three months since she first lied to her father and moved from their cramped flat, Elspeth struck up a conversation one day that would change her life. Unbeknownst to her, she began questioning a member of the Bruce pack on the legend. Realising that Elspeth was one of them, they offered to take her in, giving her the answers she sought. With nowhere else to go, she has been part of the Bruce pack ever since.



Sample RP:

With every step that she took the wind flung the scarf back into her face, momentarily blinding her until she managed to scrap the thing off again. At least she had had the sense to keep her hair tied back in it's morning ponytail, but the scarf... Well that was just the darkhorse, she decided as she negotiated herself around a mass of puddles. It was a shameless attempt, and a waste of energy since the hem of her jeans received a drenching anyhow.
"Ugh." She exhaled with a groan, feeling the cold water begin to seep into her shoes. Her toes twitched in agitation, the tepid water quickly soaking through her socks as well. "Just.... perfect. Fuckin' perfect!" she cursed, her voice rising along with her temper. The words seemed to echo around her, the phrase repeating again and again. From across the street a young mother cast a disapproving glare in her general direction. Judging by the look on her face, Elspeth guessed that she was less then pleased with her language. With one hand the woman shepherded her children inside, maintaining her eye contact up until entering the darkened store front.
Freezing, her feet quickly become miniature icicles, she stalked down the street, this time paying attention on keeping her head down and herself out of trouble. You would have thought that by now anyone would be accustomed to the variety of weather over here, or lack of it. Personally, she held the belief that Scotland -and Blackwillow most of all- had only two seasons: Raining and Not Raining.
And right at the moment, it was raining.
The rain -previously held in a torrent of angry clouds above her head- gushed down, pooling in the declines of the street and doubling the size of the lasts rainstorm's puddles.With a yelp she made a mad dash for cover, mud slinging up at the back of her calves as she cut across the grass. The wind was persistent; her scarf flapped and her hat threatened to fall from her head. She used a hand to clamp it down as she raced for the nearby bus stop, the sound of squelching sneakers accompanying her.
By the time Elspeth reached the sanctuary of cover she was dripping wet. Shimmering beads of rain shone in her hair from where it poked out from under the dark green fabric of her bucket hat. She shook herself twice, the movement startlingly canine-like, even for her. If there was anything to be grateful for about the sudden down pour it was that the rain had chased away the few early morning stragglers. No one had seen her slip up. But that didn't really change anything. She'd still done it, even if it was only a harmless shake to rid herself of clinging rain drops. For all she knew she could be howling next time, or transforming! Just the thought caused the hair on the back of her neck to tingle, perking up. Underneath the sleeves of the coat her arms broke out into a heap of goosebumps that crawled their way further up her limbs.
She could feel a scowl forming, linking her brows together, pushing her lips up into a pout. Her arms folded across her chest, completing the picture. She dropped down onto the bench in a huff, the rain pinging off the roof of the stop. It was a soft, musical sound. Somehow it aggravated her even more.
The rain didn't seem like it was about to let up anytime soon. Marooned inside the bus stop, Elspeth cast her eyes around, looking for something to entertain her time with. Her gaze wandered to the seat and the piece of gum that was stretched across it, half chewed and rubbery. Disgusting. With a sigh, she pulled herself back onto her tired feet, resorting to leaning against one of the shelter's foundation polls. It wasn't particularly comfy, but it suited her mood perfectly, as did the weather.

Here you will find a list of all the roles. DON'T PANIC. Not all of these roles will be in play. This is just a guide so that you are aware of all the POSSIBLE roles or if you don't know what powers your role has. Each game there will be a list of what roles are definitely in play and what roles might be in play.

Remember, the Quileute pack members are not considered werewolves. They are shapeshifters and are part of the Allied team. The werewolves are an entirely separate group. Read "How To Play" for more information.

Allied Forces:


Bella Cullen (Bodyguard): Can protect one member of her choice per night phase. She is not told who is targeted so it might be a shot in the dark. She can choose to self protect. Bella's protection only extends to targeted victims by the Wild Vamps. She cannot protect against lynching and she cannot protect the same person consecutively. Bella's protection only extends one night and cannot protect against werewolves. When found by Edward, Bella's morale will be rise and she may choose to protect two players the following night.

-If Edward dies, his identity will be revealed to Bella although she gains nothing from his death.

Edward Cullen (Reader): Each night phase Edward elects two people to read. He is given ONE of their identities. It is up to him to decipher which is which. Not only is Edward working to help the AF, he is also desperately searching for Bella. When Edward believes he has found his Bella he will inform the GM. If he is wrong and the one he proposes is a member of the killing WV, Edward will die. If he chooses wrong and the one he proposes is NOT a killing member, Edward will be informed of his mistake.

-Edward will only have one shot at finding Bella. If he guesses wrong, he does not have another chance.
-When Edward finds Bella, Bella's ability increases in accuracy for one night.
-If Bella is killed, Edward will take over Bella's ability for ONE night. He will be given a list of 3 likely candidates however only one of these candidates is the true target of the vamps. Edward may only protect one.

Rosalie Hale (Vigilante): Once per game Rosalie can single-handedly kill anyone she so chooses. Her ultimate goal of course will be to off someone who is either a werewolf or any part of the VW team. Rosalie will private message her decision to the GM but will not be informed if she has chosen correctly or if she has killed one of her own.

Emmett Cullen (Blessed): Because of his incredible strength, Emmett has the ability to with stand one attack from the Wild Vamps and one bite from the werewolves. This power is initiated automatically if Emmett is ever attacked.

Jasper Hale (Mayor): Once during the game Jasper's lynch vote will be counted twice because he is able to manipulate the standings. He will choose when to activate his power. All players will be notified of the double lynch if and only if it is the deciding factor to a lynch; however, Jasper's identity will not be revealed.

Alice Cullen (Seer): Is an essential member to the Allied Forces and a large threat to the Wild Vamps. Each night phase, Alice will have the opportunity to read a character's alliance. The Game Leader will inform Alice whether her target is a member of the wild vamps or not. However, only killing members of the WV will be detected as "part of Wild Vampires". Those who do not make calls on kills will appear as "Not a member of Wild Vamps".

Carlisle Cullen (Witch Doctor): Once, and only once, Carlisle can choose a time in the game where he will be told which innocent member is being target by the killers of WV. He will have the ability to heal this condemned victim. Carlisle can choose to self heal. Carlisle's powers do not extend to werewolf attacks. This is Carlisle's one power. He is a normal member of the team besides this one opportunity.

Esme Cullen (Apprentice Seer): If ever Alice is killed, by any means, Esme will replace her; however, Esme doesn't know her true identity. When she beings the game she thinks she is a regular Allied Team member. Only when Alice dies, is Esme's role revealed to her.

Nessie Cullen (Beloved): During a day phase of Nessie's choosing, Nessie's sole lynch vote will be the verdict, regardless of what others have said. Nessie may choose to private message the game leader or publicly announce it. However, if Nessie is killed (by ANY means) the entire Allied Team will go into a sorrowful state and will be unable to vote the next day phase.

Eleazar Denali (Scholar): At the beginning of the game, Eleazar is given the chance to choose one person whose alignment will be revealed to him. He will receive the same format of answers as Alice-- "A member of Wild Vampires" or "Not a member of Wild Vampires". However unlike Alice, Eleazar will see past Chelsea's shield and will not receive any false readings. Besides his granted knowledge, Eleazar is a normal Allied Team member.

Carmen Denali (Priest): After every killing, Carmen can read the alignment of the dead player.

Kate Denali, Irina Denali, and Tanya Denali (Mason): Because of their sisterly bound, the three Denali sister will immediately know one another idenities. They don't have a special role and are a normal part of the Allied Force, however power comes in knowledge. The Denali sisters have a head start.

-One, two, or three of these sisters may be in play. Usually only one or two. If only one of these roles in play they will obviously not be informed of their counterparts and will continue as a normal member.

Sam Uley (Watcher): Every night phase, Sam will choose a player to watch. If a certain player has been visited by another player, Sam will be informed.

-Example: If player1 is saved by Bella (player2) and scanned by Edward (player 3), Sam will receive the message:

"Player1 has been visited by player2 and player3"
or
"Player1 has been visited by no one"

-Sam's ability is highly valued since it immediately picks out who has special roles.

Jacob Black (Archangel): Has the same role as Bella with the exception that Jacob protects against werewolf attacks (ironic, no?). He has no power against lynching. Jacob may choose to self protect.

Quil Ateara (Magistrate): During each night phase, Quil will choose to spare someone from being lynched. He can decide to protect himself. If the member he has chosen is lynched, the team will be informed that the lynchee has been spared; however, Quil's identity will not be revealed.

Embry Call:

Paul: If ever targeted and killed, Paul will take his killer down with him. This includes the Vigilante, last killing member of the mafia, and any other players who have rolls as killers. Paul's role is activated whenever he is killed, regardless of day or night.

-If more than one mafia member targets Paul, which is most likely always the case, one member's life will be taken: chosen randomly.

Seth Clearwater (Martyr): Because of his dedication to the pack, Seth can opt to sacrifice himself for the good of the Team. He may elect one other player to bring down with him. Seth will be granted this power at night.

-Seth's power to self sacrifice will dominate over any protection that he personally has been given. However, if the player Seth chooses to take down is being protected by Bella, Seth's sacrifice will only bring himself down. Be careful.
